I am incredibly grateful to have worked with Nancy at Telfair. She uplifted the whole team's morale with her sense of humor, generosity, kindness, and consistently stocked drawer of candy bars. In my early days as a development officer, I was always on the move. She used to tell me I needed roller skates to help me get around. She touched many lives in her time at the museum. I will remember her fondly, always. My deepest condolences.

What a wonderful, wise lady Nancy was. I'll never forget when I got the job at the Telfair, managing the three buildings. She said, "That's a lot of weight for your tiny shoulders." She was and still is right!! We loved hearing the stories of her lifetime involvement with the Telfair Museum. We miss her! My deepest condolences to everyone in her family.

Mrs. Nancy will always be one of the sweetest people I've ever known. We met years ago when I started at Telfair Museums and she was always so kind and positive at the Academy front desk. Her stories of her childhood in Savannah were my favorite. She will be greatly missed by so many.

Nancy was one of the first people I met when I joined the Telfair in the mid-nineties. She and her mother (whom Nancy referred to as Sergeant Momma) could have written a book about every artwork, every acquisition, every docent, every director, and all of the ghosts in the Telfair and the Owens-Thomas House. At the front desk of the Telfair, she met each new guest with Southern charm and grace.

I met Nancy thru Harleston and became good friends over the years. She was a true lady and will definitely be missed.

Ms. Nancy will be missed beyond measure. An institution in her own right, she was the perfect person to share the Telfair legacy, right alongside Mary herself. Not a single piece of my own history with the Owens Thomas House or the Telfair Academy doesn't involve her somehow. From the history, to the happenings, to the haunts, she knew it all and was happy to share each and every one.

I wrote about Nancy in 2018 for the Savannah Morning News. What a breath of fresh air, what a welcome, what a smile she gave to every visitor to the Telfair. She was so happy.
